by Elvis Mack

The week-long celebration of Street Fighter and its legacy begin this week at Capcom Cup X. But before the grand finals on February 25, there is one more chance for aspiring fighters to secure their spot in the prestigious event. The Capcom Cup X LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier) is an offline tournament that will place from February 16 to 18 with a lot on the line.

The winner of the Last Chance Qualifier will join the other 47 players who have qualified by various means (you can see all the qualified players here) in the finals. There are no second chances here, as only the winner will get the invite. Out of 324 players, only one will get the chance to join the group stage.

The Players

Every year the LCQ gathers the strongest players in the world for an S-Tier level of a tournament and this year is no different. Notable Street Fighter V legends like Punk and Idom is schedule to appear. While players who burst into SF6 strong like Kakeru and Vxbao is also in the running. Finally, fans might be surpised players like Tokido, Daigo Umehara, Problem X, and Zhen all still trying to get into the show, but that tells how strong these sets of players are in Street Fighter 6.

The Situation

Another thing to worry about is what happens after the player wins the LCQ. This Wednesday is the Seeding Stream for Capcom Cup X. However, with the Capcom Cup X LCQ winner is going to be on everybody’s mind as the most recent winner. This will make their road to the finals a lot harder, since people will be able to analyze and be ready. However, the LCQ winner is also the hottest player in the tournament, having to win to qualify in the first place. It will be interesting to see what path the LCQ Winner takes at Capcom Cup X.

The Last Chance Qualifier will be streamed live on the Capcom Fighters channel on YouTube and Twitch, along with the other events of the Capcom Cup X week. On February 24, the Street Fighter League: World Championship 2023 will also take place, featuring the winning teams from the official team league tournaments held in Japan, US, and Europe. The Capcom Cup X week promises to be a thrilling spectacle for all Street Fighter fans and a celebration of the fighting game community.
