The next instalment in the iconic RPG franchise Dragon Age is nigh upon us. Recently, developer BioWare revealed that the official title for the fourth game in the series is Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

As a refresher for those who played through Dragon Age: Inquisition, the title Dreadwolf refers to Solas, the Dread Wolf, one of the playable supporting characters in the previous game. At the end of the Trespasser DLC, he was revealed to be a sinister godly figure of elven legend, and certainly looks to play the part of the main antagonist in the upcoming game.
However, according to a recent BioWare blog post, the Dreadwolf title may not be all that bad. Instead, much like the enigmatic character himself, the title “suggests a spectrum of endless possibilities on where things may go”, and that as a Dragon Age game, your choices matter at the end of it all.

Ultimately, there is still very little to go on about with regards to Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, aside from some concept art revealed at Gamescom 2020, and a teaser trailer at the 2020 Game Awards, among other snippets of information.
As far as a release window goes, it might be safe to assume that the game won’t come out until at least 2023. According to Venturebeat journalist Jeff Grubb, the dev team is said to be “hitting their milestones” and the game is “in very good shape”, and is expected to release on schedule.
