Esports World Cup Shakes Up After CEO 2024

by Elvis Mack

The Esports World Cup has officially begun! However, for fighting games competitors from around the globe are still fighting for the coveted remaining spots in the Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 tournaments. With CEO 2024 behind us, all eyes are now on The Mixup in France, the ultimate battleground where the best fighters will have their final shot at qualifying before the last chance qualifier.

CEO Qualifiers

For Street Fighter 6, 7 out of the Top 8 were trying their hardest to secure their qualification. Idom had an amazing run with season 2 Manon as well as good showings for NL, JustAKid and NoahTheProdigy. However, Nephew with his legendary run at CEO 2024 only losing to the top 2 placers alongside DCQ was enough to secure the qualification spot for both, while Punk took the CEO 2024 championship.

Meanwhile in Tekken 8, it was the same situation as only Keisuke was qualified before the top 8. However, that did not stop him from making a run though the losers bracket with Kazuya beating JDCR, Joka and Doujin along the way. However, due to getting 2nd he gave way his 1st to first place winner after an intense game 5, Atif and 3rd place Doujin.
