Gwen Guo
Chairperson, Singapore Games Guild

Gwen is the chairperson of Singapore Games Guild, a non-profit association which aims to promote a sustainable ecosystem within the industry and nurturing holistic game developers. She is also the co-founder of Imba Interactive, a studio which provides end-to-end solutions for game audio.

Desmond Hinkson
Senior Lecturer | School of Technology for the Arts | Republic Polytechnic

Desmond is a senior lecturer at Republic Polytechnic and a veteran games designer. He has been working on AAA console game titles from 1996 onward with contributions to titles such as Goldeneye 007, Donkey Kong Country, Banjo-Kazooie, Crash Bandicoot, and The Force Unleashed to name a few. Bringing his experience in Japanese and Western game design, he now helps to shape curriculum in the Diploma in Games Design. He is interested in gamification, immersive media, toy design, and games design.

Carlo Arellano
Art Director, Super Evil Megacorp

Carlo is the Art Director of Super Evil Megacorp on the game Vainglory. He began his career as a creature and character designer, on such movies as Van Helsing, Spider Man, Evolution, Tremors 3, Hollowman and Tim Burton’s Planet of The Apes.   Carlo has provided concepts, textures and models for many Video Game projects including: World of Warcraft, Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, Sunset Overdrive and God of War.  His illustrations have been featured in Dungeons and Dragons, Dark Horse Comics and in the books Nuthin But Mech, MetamorFX and Costume Design And Illustration: For Film Video Games And Animation. He has taught Concept Art and Figure Drawing at Art Institute, Concept Design Academy, Concept Design Workshop, Computer Graphics Masters Academy and Laguna
College of Art And Design.

Shawn Toh
Co-Founder & CEO, Battlebrew Productions

Shawn Toh is a cofounder and the CEO at BattleBrew Productions. A game designer with 7 years’ experience, he previously led teams in successful mobile game companies such as Nubee and Gumi Asia.

He later went on to SUTD Game Lab as an Associate Producer. His work has been featured in Wired.com, Tech In Asia, and Gamasutra, amongst others. He enjoys good food, assorted weaponry and cute stuff.

Tang Kang Soon
Co-Founder, Joysteak Studios

Kang Soon is a cofounder of Joysteak Studios, an independent game development studio with the mission of making heartfelt, joyful games. They are currently working on Songbird Symphony, a musical adventure game to be released on PC, Nintendo Switch and PS4 platforms. The game has gone on to receive multiple awards including Best Game Design from Busan Indie Connect Festival 2018, Best Audio from Taipei Game Show 2018, and Judge’s Choice from Gamestart 2017.
