South East Asia Major 2017
South East Asia Major (SEAM) 2017, the largest fighting game tournament in Asia, returns to GameStart 2017 bigger and better! Expect to see high-level tournament action, as top players from around the world convene to fight for over USD 50,000 in prize money.

South East Asia Major Mobile 2017 – Shadowverse SEA Open
SEA Mobile Major 2017 is proud to host the 1st official Shadowverse tournament in Southeast Asia – the Shadowverse SEA OpenParticipants will compete for a piece of the USD 5,000 prize pool, and the winner gets free trip to watch the RAGE Shadowverse World Grand Prix in Japan on 23 & 24 December!

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds Tournament
PUBG fans in the region rejoice, because the next time you are fighting for that awesome chicken dinner, you can do so at GameStart 2017’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Tournament held in partnership with the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Singapore community and supported by developers Bluehole Studio Inc.!

GameStart FIFA 18 Tournament
Our annual GameStart FIFA 18 Tournament returns on October 14-15! Pit your skills against players from Singapore and Asia, to win $1,000 and a brand new PS4 console, or grab a couple of friends and have fun in the 3v3 tournament.

GameStart 2017 will be hosting the Legion Singapore League on the main stage on October 14, where top-tier skills will be on display for all to witness and admire! There is also the Legion Singapore Rookie Cup to look forward to! Open to all Summoners in Singapore, the tournament aims to let new players try their hand at competitive play and to learn from each other on the journey to become the best.

Southeast Asia Summit
GameStart 2017 will be co-organising the inaugural SEA Summit business conference, which aims to facilitate knowledge-sharing, networking and collaboration opportunities, among game companies in Southeast Asia, and also with those looking to enter the region. Southeast Asia is the fastest-growing region for games, and with and up-and-coming gaming ecosystem, the SEA Summit is well positioned to become a key industry event for the region.

International Mobile Gaming Awards
GameStart 2017 has a partnership with the IMGA to host the second edition of the IMGA SEA awards ceremony in Singapore on 13 October 2017. In line with the IMGA’s reputation for discovering and rewarding the best mobile games and innovation, our goal is to shine a spotlight on the fantastic games being developed in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Singapore Games Pavilion by IGDA
Singapore’s leading games convention, GameStart Asia 2017 is back in full force and will feature more than 12 of the best local indie game developers. They will be showcasing their exciting new games at the Singapore Games Pavilion which is organised by the International Game Developers Association of Singapore (IGDA) and supported by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).

Tabletop @ GameStart 2017
This year, GameStart will be playing host to the inaugural GameStart TableTop (GST) gaming area! We are extremely happy to welcome our analog gaming brethren into GameStart and we have lined up many exciting activities for both novices and veterans.

AR Techno Sports by HADO Singapore
GameStart 2017 is home to all things gaming, and this year, we will be bringing the world’s first AR Techno Sports to Singapore, thanks to HADO Singapore! HADO is the first instance of esports utilizing wearable devices and AR (augmented reality) technology using head mounted displays and motion sensors. Imagine fighting giant monsters, throwing fireballs, or driving karts!  Forget cables and being restricted in front of the screen, experience true movement with the new kind of esports.

The Drinkery – Presented by Samsung
The new dining area is available for all our visitors to unwind, chill out, and grab a bite/drink from a selection of awesome vendors with great food and tasty beverages! The Drinkery will have kebabs, nachos, churros, a variety of eggs-inspired cuisine and more, there’s even a special Sagat’s Champion Thai Bowl for all potential Street Fighters! To quench your thirst, grab a cup of refreshing lemonade, quirky potions, and even a beer or two!

Secretlab Grand Prix Chair Race
The Secretlab Grand Prix is back, this year, take part in the 2nd Secretlab Grand Prix Chair Race that will be held for 2 sessions on 14 and 15 Oct, and the competitor with the fastest timing EACH DAY will bring home their own Secretlab Omega Stealth Gaming Chair!

If you have been to previous iterations of GameStart, you would know that we love games, and that include the classics that newer generations of gamers may not have had the chance to experience. Do not worry our fellow gamers, that is why we have RetroDNA! Put together and curated by our friends from Versus City, this year’s blast from the past will be an all-SEGA affair, more specifically, a SEGA Dreamcast showcase!

GameStart 2017 is having a partnership with ARTBLOVK GALLERY, a local haven for all art games and comics related! Check out what’s going to be showcased at GameStart 2017, as well as the other cool exhibitions happening at ARTBLOVK!

We’re happy to announce that Doujin Market will return to GameStart for the 2nd year, to offer creators the opportunity to showcase their work at the event! Special Guests: Yoko Taro & Yosuke Saito
GameStart 2017 is extremely honoured to announce that Yoko Taro, game director for NieR: Automata, along with Square Enix producer, Yosuke Saito, will be coming to Singapore! The duo will be speaking at the SEA Summit on October 13, where industry professionals can hear from the seasoned veterans.

Special Guest: Eric Lang
Eric M. Lang is the Director of Game Design at CMON and has been a tabletop industry veteran for over 20 years. During his time in the industry, he has worked with several high-profile companies, including Wizards of the Coast, WizKids, and Fantasy Flight Games, and has designed games based on Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Game of Thrones. With CMON, Eric has designed several beloved games, including Blood Rage, Arcadia Quest, Bloodborne: The Card Game, and more. In 2016, Eric was the recipient of the Diana Jones Award for Excellence in Gaming. Other accolades include multiple The Dice Tower Awards and five Origins Awards.

Special Cosplay Guest: Carry
Carry has been an official cosplayer for Cygames for 3 years and a professional costume creator for over 4 years with a background in pattern making. She is both honoured and excited to be a guest at GameStart 2017 – which will be her first appearance in Singapore!

Special Cosplay Guest: Yasemin Arslan (Vera Chimera)
Back by popular demand, Vera Chimera is one of Australia’s most accredited veteran cosplayers, best known for her role as live-action Lilith in Borderlands 2 and her regular collaborations with Blizzard’s Overwatch team. She’s a charismatic and humble individual who lends her skills in costume making, prop design, acting, and panel hosting, and is also an avid motorcycle enthusiast.

Special Cosplay Guest: Kerrie (Astrokerrie)
Kerrie, otherwise known as AstroKerrie, is a well-known Australian cosplayer that also loves to LARP! Based out of Perth, AstroKerrie takes pride in having exquisite craftsmanship for her cosplays as well as having fun! The winner of several awards including the Perth round of the 2016 Comic Con Championships of Cosplay and the 2015 Riot Australia League of Legends Cosplay competition, in the LARPing world she is also the Ambassador for Australia’s largest LARP company, Epic Armoury. She is excited to be at Gamestart this year to meet the community in Singapore!

Special Cosplay Guest: Ying Tze
Hailing from neighbouring Malaysia, Ying Tze will be appearing at GameStart 2017, presented by BANDAI NAMCO ENTERTAINMENT ASIA! She is one of Asia’s most renowned and popular cosplayer and fashion/costume Designer. Besides cosplay and costume making, she is an avid cat-lover, plays video games and does game live-streaming as well. Known for her friendly personality and interaction with her fans, Ying Tze has amassed over 137,000 fans on Facebook alone. She has also been guested at many anime and game events in both the Asia and Australasia region.
