Porsche Announces Gran Turismo Cup Asia Pacific Esports Racing Tournament, Qualifiers Begin 5 September

If you’ve a knack for racing simulation games, specifically the Gran Turismo series, and want to prove your worth as the very best on the grandest of stages, you’re in luck. Starting 5 September, the Porsche Gran Turismo Cup Asia Pacific, a brand-new esports racing tournament, will pit avid racing gamers amongst each other for ultimate bragging rights and mouth-watering prizes.

Organised by Porsche Asia Pacific together with Porsche Japan, Porsche Korea and Porsche Taiwan, this online-only event will be played on Gran Turismo Sport for PlayStation 4. The event will be open to participants (aged 18 and above) from Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, the Philippines and New Zealand, with open qualifiers happening from 5 September through 31 October.

Participants will race in their respective country’s qualifiers, and have to rack up points across 5 qualifying rounds. Each round will require participants to race in a specific course using a specific Porsche model. Here are the qualifying races at a glance:

The top 5 racers to emerge from the qualifying rounds will book a spot in the semi-finals sometime in mid December, where they will meet the top 5 racers each from Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. The top 10 racers of the semi-finals will then move on to the grand finals, where the overall champion will be awarded the coveted grand prize of an all-expenses-paid Porsche weekend in Tokyo, including a visit to the Porsche Experience Centre Tokyo and more.

How to register:

Interested participants will have to own a copy of Gran Turismo Sport on their PS4 system. In the game, select [Sport Mode] and head over to the event titled “Porsche Gran Turismo Cup Asia Pacific”. Reception starts 15 minutes before the entry deadline.

Call of Duty® coming soon to mobile in Asia!

Complete more actions in a single life – kills, captures, objectives, shoot down enemy air support, and assists – lets you activate bonus weapons and equipment to give your team a boost in the heat of battle. These bonus weapons include drones, air strikes, helicopters, and even a deadly nuclear strike 😮 Dominate the battle more easily with Scorestreak!

In Call of Duty®: Mobile, you can also fight alongside franchise favourite characters like Ghost, Soap (spoiler alert!), Captain Price, and Alex Mason.

GUNDAM VERSUS Brings Destruction And Spectacle this September!

If you have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of GUNDAM VERSUS, the wait is soon to be over! Releasing on September 29 later this year, the fifth generation of the VERSUS series will come with improved graphics and increased destruction, while maintaining the familiar 2v2 format with 3v3 battles now added in. To help new players get into the game quicker and master the art of robot fighting, GUNDAM VERSUS will have both solo and multiplayer modes, together with a tutorial mode and free mode.

Solo players can cut their teeth in the tutorial and learn about the intricacies of the fighting system. Head into Free Battle and you can set up everything to your heart’s desire, including the background music! Trial Battle gives you original story scenarios and task players to clear a gauntlet of 10 missions and face massive boss enemies for a grand spectacle. Ultimate Battle plays like GUNDAM VERSUS‘ Horde mode, as players try to survive waves after waves of enemies and earn upgrades along the way, the best part being you can do this with other players through online co-op! With online co-op, you and your allies can unlock an Extra Battle by destroying enough enemies, which opens up the possibility of 6 players online, unique bosses, and other rule sets.

Those looking to challenge other pilots will also have plenty to look forward to. Casual Match comes in 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 variations,  whereas you can specify your own rule sets with Player Match Custom Rooms. Ranked play is also available using VERSUS‘ Ranked Match Worldwide Matching feature, with each room holding up to a maximum of 18 players, face competitors of similar ranks and prove you are the best in the world!

September 29 is only about two short months away, so get ready to jump back into your favourite mobile suit and make your foes tremble in terror!
