After an almost decades-long content drought, we may expect Silent Hill to rise from its grave once more.
Last week, a leak from twitter user AestheticGamer1 (via VGC) revealed that there are multiple Silent Hill games in development by Konami. The tweet included four pictures that were allegedly taken from a Silent Hill project from 2020. Soon after the tweet went live, these pictures were taken down due to copyright issues, which seemed to confirm the credibility of the leak.
(1/2) Silent Hill leak. There's a lot I'm not sharing for now. This is from a relatively new source for me, but I have been given more than enough proof to believe them. I also will mention the names "Anita & Maya", "SMS Messages", & this is not the only SH game in dev. The shots pic.twitter.com/t5MWzNxfFS

Many other rumours regarding these upcoming Silent Hill projects have begun floating around as well. Another tweet by user NateTheHate claims that Bloober Team, the developers behind horror games Layers of Fear and The Medium, is working on a remake of Silent Hill 2 which will include reworked puzzles and new endings. On top of that, the tweet also claims that multiple SIlent Hill projects are in development. This information has also been corroborated by journalist Jeff Grubb.
This is the stuff I've heard, and it comes from multiple different sources. Not all of my sources are primary, but everything is mostly lining up. To me, the biggest indicator is the stuff I've seen lines up with Konami doing a big reveal at E3 last year before it pulled out. https://t.co/GzUb3jzrwX

Furthermore, Bloober Team’s CEO has stated that his team is working on “another gaming project, another horror IP” with a “very famous gaming publisher”. Silent Hill’s composer Akira Yamaoka who has worked with Bloober before has also said that his next game project will be “the one you’ve been hoping to hear about.”
Unfortunately, Konami has not confirmed any rumours or leaks regarding the Silent Hill games. For now, we can only speculate, and wait for them to drop their next big announcement. But it looks as though the telltale signs are right in front of us, and if they do happen to be true, we may just get the revival we’ve been clamouring for.
