Why is TNS Important to the FGC

Tampa Never Sleeps, started by Tong Lee in 2011 as an grassroots fighting game tournament. Since then, TNS has grown to become one of the leading esports event management and broadcast production companies in the country, hosting and streaming some of the biggest and most prestigious fighting game events, such as CEO, EVO, Combo Breaker, Super Smash Con, and Dreamhack. The team at TNS is important for the fighting game community because it provides high-quality events and tournaments that cater to the diverse and passionate players and fans of fighting games. TNS also supports the growth and development of the fighting game community by creating opportunities for socializing, networking, learning, and competing. TNS is a shining example of how a grassroots organization can achieve success and recognition in the esports industry.

The FGC thrives on in-person competition, where players can face each other directly, test their skills, and share their passion. Online gaming is not a perfect substitute, as it can have issues such as lag, and disconnects. Offline events also offer more opportunities for socializing, networking, and learning from each other at a personal level. After 4 years, TNS 9: CEO Never Sleeps is a chance for the FGC to reunite, celebrate, and enjoy fighting games again. It is also a chance for the FGC to showcase its resilience, growth, and potential to the world.
